Behavioral Expectations During Orientation
Participation All students are required to participate in ALL activities during their one-day or three-day orientation session. Students will be required to abide by all student conduct regulations in the Code of Student Conduct as outlined in the North Miami Student Handbook.
Alcohol or Drug Use Alcohol and drugs of any kind are prohibited at Johnson & Wales University. During your stay at JWU, you are expected to abide by the university’s alcohol and drug policies, which prohibit you from possessing and/or consuming alcohol or other drugs. Violations of these policies will be referred to Safety & Security and/or the North Miami Police Department. In addition, violations will be referred to the Office of Dean of Students for immediate action.
Any violation of the Code of Student Conduct could result in the rescinding of your acceptance to the university.
Mobile Devices During Orientation activities, mobile devices, including all cell phones, iPods, iPads, must be turned OFF.
Unexpected Departures All students must stay for the entire orientation session. If you must leave due to unexpected circumstances, please contact an orientation staff member. He or she will assist you in making the proper arrangements.
