    First Year Experience (FYE) is an amazing opportunity to jump start your college journey. It will help you adjust to college life and begin your intellectual and co-curricular journey here at JWU. FYE is a unique chance to:

    • Move into your res hall early
    • Meet faculty and get their personalized attention before other students
    • Bond with students in your major
    • Ask questions of student leaders in your major
    • Meet 100 new students
    • Meet peers in your class before the 1st day of school
    • Go on amazing field trips
    • Have lots of fun!

    Dates Tue–Fri, Sep 3–6, after you move into your residence hall on Tue, Sep 3. 

    Cost There is a $150 application fee. The fee will refund if you are not accepted into the program. Partial scholarships may be available.

    Who Can Participate? Students in ANY major (except culinary arts and honors students) can do the community service track. Commuters can apply to any track.

    The following tracks are open ONLY to students in those majors: Graphic Design, Sports/Entertainment/Event Management (SEE) and Criminal Justice.

    Choose Your Track Explore JWU and your areas of interest, and develop important skills that are vital to your academic success. Each experience is tied to a class that you are required to take in your first term. Choose the FYE track you are most interested in.

    Reserve Your Spot Apply and select your track starting May 15. The $150 fee will be required at the time of application. You must use your JWU email to apply.

    Review of applicants will begin at the end of June. Notifications will be made on a rolling basis beginning July 1.
