Q&A: Selecting Your Res Hall Room for 2013-14

How do I pick my room? Our online application allows you to select your room and roommate based on common interests and lifestyle habits.

How do I know when to apply for housing? Details about this online process will be e-mailed to you within 3-5 business days after your $300 admissions reservation fee has posted to your student account.

When do I select a room? You can expect to receive your room selection time slot as follows:

January – May 6 applicants: May to early June
May 6 – May 31 applicants: Early to mid-June
Applicants who apply after May 31: Late June*

*Room selection will remain open after this point for later applicants to apply and select their room.

Can I live with other students in my major? JWU offers 4 Living/Learning Communities: Business, Hospitality, Honors and Baking/Pastry. To learn more, visit jwuLink > Student Life.

How do I get in contact with my roommate? Contacting your roommate is easiest when done through our online housing application.

What kind of sheets do I need to bring? Sheet size depends on your residence hall:

Cedar Hall North and Cedar Hall South: Standard Twin
City View Towers: Full

Note: You will get a special letter in the mail during the summer with special sheet and comforter options available for purchase.

What is included in each room? All residence hall rooms come with the following items for each student:

Bed and mattress
Closet
Dresser
Desk and desk chair
1 Microfridge (microwave/refrigerator combo) for you and your roommate to share
Wireless internet (Cedar Hall North and South) and cable TV
