What majors does J&W offer? Johnson & Wales offers numerous majors within the College of Business, The Hospitality College, College of Culinary Arts, School of Technology and School of Education. For a complete listing, please refer to the University catalog at the campus of interest.

What minors does J&W offer? Rather than offer minors, Johnson & Wales has a two-degree program. Students may earn an associate degree and a bachelor's degree, providing them with an experienced and diverse background as they enter the workforce. In addition, career tracks have been built into the degree programs. Beyond the enrichment that they provide, students' transcripts will reflect commitment to a particular area, which may be impressive to employers.

What type of scholarships and financial aid does J&W offer? Johnson & Wales is committed to helping students find the best combination of grants, scholarships and payment options to fit their needs. Last year Johnson & Wales University awarded over $40 million in institutional aid to students at all campuses. Scholarships range from $500 to full-tuition.

Does a student have to be in a college prep program to apply to J&W? No, but the student should have a solid background in English and Math. The student should have completed a formal research paper while in high school and have the math skills necessary to succeed at a university level.

Are SAT's required? SAT scores are required for students who would like to apply for the Honors program and for students applying for the International Business major. SAT scores are not, however, required for general admission, but may be used to determine scholarship eligibility.

What kind of academic support is available? Academic support is conducted through Student Academic Services. Special courses, workshops, tutoring and personal and career counseling are available. Special needs students can also find assistance with special programs, adaptations and reasonable accommodations to ensure every opportunity for their success.

Are students with a GED or from ESL classes admitted? Students with a GED are considered for admission. They must meet minimum score requirements. Please contact the admissions office at the campus of interest for more information. Non-native English-speaking students are also considered for admission. These students must submit a TOEFL score.

What types of educator programs are offered by J&W? One-day Educator Forums are offered during the school year. During the summer, week-long Educator Forums provide C.E.U.s and sometimes graduate credit. The University offers various visit for educators to visit the campus as well as field trips for groups of students and individual student events.

Johnson & Wales University also offers a master's degree in business/culinary education as well as a doctorate in educational leadership. Read more.

Does J&W offer professional development credit? In some instances, educator forums are accepted as professional development programs. It is up to each individual school system to make that determination.

What type of accreditation does J&W have? Johnson & Wales University is accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC).
