Your JWU visit experience My experience here at Johnson & Wales University has been an experience that I will never forget in my entire life. I first came to JWU during orientation. I walked around and fell in love with the North Miami Campus. I love the atmosphere of the university and the size. When school first started it was very scary for me. This is because I knew no one and was only seventeen years old. I then got involved in different organizations and started to market myself to the university by joining CAT.

Why are you a CAT student? I am a CAT student because I love to be around people and I love to see people get the real experience of visiting the university. I never came to the university before the orientation I attended, so I never got to talk to current students and be able to hear their experiences. I love to share my experiences with other people because it gives them a sense of comfort and a cushion to sit on between the time that they visit the university and the time that they actually enroll. When giving tours of the university I always mention the big happy family that we have here. I see Johnson & Wales university's North Miami Campus as one big family; the students, faculty and staff are always there to assist you in any way possible.

What did you wish you knew (or someone told you) prior to visiting campus? With the experience that I have had with the university I would be perfectly fine if I knew nothing about the university.

What "insider’s tip" do you have for prospective students about visiting? One "insider tip" I would have to tell people about visiting is that they should take the time to visit because by visiting the university, especially through a fly-in/drive-in, you can see firsthand the diversity that is here and the different opportunities that are offered to the students.

What "must see" things do you recommend prospective students see while they're here visiting? They "must see" the diversity that is here on campus. Being in South Florida there is such a diverse community anywhere you go. There is just so much you can learn about the different cultures that are in the South Florida area. The beaches and the nightlife is fun too, but coming to such a great Career University, partying was the last thing on my mind.
