Your JWU visit experience I first visited Johnson & Wales University the summer before my senior year. I am from a very small country town in upstate New York and was somewhat nervous about city life. My apprehensions soon vanished when I was warmly welcomed by JWU students and staff. By taking the tour of the campus and exploring the city, I became comfortable with the area. After living here for a year, I have fallen in love with this city and JWU. It was the right fit for me. It is important to visit prospective colleges to make sure it feels right.

Why are you a CAT student? I joined CAT my freshman year because I wanted the opportunity to speak to prospective students about all JWU has to offer. Deciding which college to attend is an exciting and important decision. I enjoy sharing my experiences and advice with those who are beginning their own college experience.

What did you wish you knew (or someone told you) prior to visiting campus? I only wish that I had brought a list questions to ask on the tour while visiting the campus. Every time I visited a college there would be questions that I wish I had asked on the ride home.

What "insider’s tip" do you have for prospective students about visiting? As a tour guide, I always encourage asking many questions. The tour is the perfect opportunity to speak to a student who has been through it all. Prior to visiting the campus, I suggest making a list of questions to ask the tour guide.

What "must see" things do you recommend prospective students see while they're here visiting? Aside from the student-guided tour of the campus, I recommend that prospective students take some time to explore downtown Providence. Providence is an ideal college town with a three story mall, skating rink, and a diverse array of restaurants. Come check it out!
