international student affairs is responsible for counseling international students in personal, academic, and immigration areas. Living and studying in another country is one of the most rewarding experiences a person can have. Adjusting to a new culture may not always be the easiest thing to do. It requires time, patience, and understanding. Often it is helpful to talk to someone who will listen to your concerns and explain those aspects of American life that can be confusing. Our international student advisors are always available to meet with you when you have a problem or need some advice. In addition, Student Academic Services offers personal, academic, and career counseling. academic counseling services are available for personal and academic concerns, such as stress management, time management, substance abuse, and changes in career focus. Whether students need help with studies or have personal issues to work out, these programs are designed to help each student reach their professional and personal goals. Services are confidential except in unusual circumstances or when required by law. academic advising is available through Student Academic Services and also from faculty advisors. All students will have a faculty advisor. the learning center offers free peer and professional tutoring, as well as help in preparing written assignments and seminars in test and note taking. Students wishing to enroll in majors in business, hospitality and technology can also apply for summer session terms, which begin July 31. when do i need to choose a major? You should indicate a major on your application for admission in order to receive the appropriate information from Johnson & Wales University. If you would like to change your major prior to enrolling, you should contact the Admissions office prior to July 31, 2002. what type of accreditation does J&W have?
