bio BJ Friedery graduated from Valparaiso University where she majored in social work and English. While living in the Washington, D.C. area, she began a career in civil service in purchasing and contract negotiation with the Department of the Army. After a move to Charleston, South Carolina, she was introduced to Johnson & Wales and began an eighteen-year career in admissions.
