bio Melisa Bates graduated with her bachelor's degree from Columbia College and her master's degree in Art Education from the University of South Carolina. She worked as an art teacher in the South Carolina school system for nine years. As a result of Hurricane Hugo, Melisa moved to the Charleston area where she now resides.
