bio Michael and MaryAnn Laporte have been a part of the Johnson & Wales University family since 1998. Before that, Mike served 22 years in the United States Coast Guard; for his last assignment, he ran the top recruiting office in the country for five years consecutively. MaryAnn came from the medical field, as office manager of a large medical and dental group, dealing with doctors, dentists and patients. Their careers with J&W began as admissions officers in the south. Originally from Massachusetts, Mike and MaryAnn set down roots in New Jersey in 2000 and have been admissions reps for all of New Jersey since that time. They have seen New Jersey student enrollments at J&W increase from 300 students each year to more than 500 during the past six years. In their free time, they love to travel, work on their home and gardens, and spend time with family including their granddaughter, who they report is “the best granddaughter in the world!” office 973-300-5444 time with the University 9 years territory New Jersey: northern, southeastern (including Atlantic City) number of students attending J&W from our territory each year 500 student quote "Johnson and Wales University not only teaches pride, passion, and honor within all fields, it opens doors to endless opportunities. New Jersey DECA prepared me for college, and I feel very confident that J&W has prepared me for the workplace. I cannot speak highly enough about the students, professors, administration and staff; I have gained priceless friendships that will produce excellent opportunities. There is something about this place that is indescribable one must visit to experience the sense of family here. The education I have received is one that I cannot put a price on." Sean Bogdany |
