bio Paula Zabala was born and raised in Reno, Nevada. In 2001, she graduated from Adams State College in Alamosa, Colorado with a bachelor’s degree in exercise physiology and leisure science as well as in secondary education. She taught physical education to junior high school students for one year before moving to Denver to teach and to attend graduate school. Paula earned her master’s degree in education from the University of Colorado while also teaching elementary special education for two years. She also lived and worked in Hiroshima, Japan for one year, teaching English as a Second Language (ESL) to adults. Most recently, she moved to Sacramento from Denver and was the director for Kaplan English programs.
