All university activities and events are currently operating as scheduled.
General Information
The following modes of communication are available and updated accordingly regarding class cancellations or delays:
• The Information Line is updated at 980-JWU-INFO (980-598-4636)
• A campus-wide email is drafted and released announcing any closure
• Local network stations WBTV 3 (CBS), WCNC 6 (NBC), WSOC 9 (ABC), and FOX 18 are contacted to post any closure, as well as 1110 WBT AM radio
We encourage you to utilize these above mentioned resources for up-to-date and accurate information. Please note: if the campus will remain open, typically a campus-wide email will not be distributed. The Information Line, however, will indicate if there are no additional updates at the time. Please utilize the Information Line at 980-JWU-INFO (980-598-4636) as a key source of campus information.
In most emergencies it is appropriate to call Safety & Security at 980-598-1900.

A message from the Department of Safety & Security:
There has been an immediate increase in staffing for security around the residence halls and Academic Center during class times. The Director of Safety & Security has also met with representatives from the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department to create plans for rapid police deployment to the university in the event of an emergency.
The Emergency Management Team and the Department of Safety & Security remain as always, dedicated to the safety of our students, faculty and staff.
