Alumni Home Providence
Exciting alumni events and new traditions are making their mark on the Providence Campus.
This past year has been one of our busiest. Alumni chapters throughout the Northeast Region have been planning alumni events and receptions for the upcoming year. Growing numbers of alumni have returned to campus to reconnect with former classmates, as well as share their expertise with the campus community.
We’ve recently added two new annual traditions to our ever-growing roster of events.
The Alumni Holiday Reception brings alumni together to celebrate the season and to give back. Last year’s eclectic menu was dished up by alumni from 12 local sponsoring businesses. This year’s event promises to be even bigger.
Each Commencement, alumni are invited to celebrate the academic success of the next generation by walking with faculty members in the alumni procession. More than 50 alumni participated in this year’s very moving march.
In early February, the 4th annual Alumni Leaders Week brought more than 50 alumni to campus to share their industry experience with students and faculty. Alumni also spoke with prospective students and their families, sat in on panel discussions and judged student projects.
Our campus is also growing. In March, The Center for Culinary Excellence (CCE) opened on the Harborside Campus. The customized labs, classrooms and dining rooms of this 82,000 square-foot facility reflect the latest trends in all aspects of the profession. In September, the new Admissions Welcome Center is scheduled to open on the Harborside Campus.
By registering with JWU's alumni network, you’ll stay informed of all the exciting changes going on throughout JWU. You’ll also find out about ways to get involved with our growing community of alumni. In turn, we will make you aware of opportunities to lend your time, talent and expertise to your alma mater.
There’s never been a better time for you to reconnect with JWU and become a part of our vibrant university community. I look forward to meeting up at one of our many upcoming events.
