Welcome to the 11th Annual Cassola Conference on Teaching Communication Dedicated to providing college and secondary school teachers of oral communication with a forum for exchanging ideas, the Cassola Conference on Teaching Communication annually draws participants from throughout the New England area. Next year's conference is entitled "Telling the Whole Story: Communication in the Classroom and Community." The conference will take place on Friday, April 4, 2008 at our Harborside Campus. The conference is hosted each April by the English Department in the John Hazen White School of Arts & Sciences, and addresses a broad range of oral communications issues. Keynote Speaker: Helen Glover Helen Glover will share her experiences as a Navy instructor, a contestant on the reality television show "Survivor," and a talk show host on WHJJ radio. Join us as we examine our own efforts to tell the whole story in today's classrooms and communities, facing challenges ranging from course curricula to information literacy to our attempts to understand competing narratives about global issues such as climate change, national security, and international conflict. 2008 conference program
