A concentration is an opportunity to pursue, in-depth, a subject or area
of special interest to you. Students can develop a range of abilities
sought after by employers. Successful completion of your concentration
is indicated on your transcript.
eligibility All JWU undergraduates are eligible for concentrations in the School of Arts & Sciences. You don't have to change your major, and you should be able to complete a concentration without spending extra time at Johnson & Wales. Students may choose to focus on any of the three course concentrations offered by the School of Arts & Sciences. Most students select the courses to fulfill general studies electives, and many find that one or two of the required courses are already part of their program of study.
to sign up You can start by taking any of the required courses. You may want to consult with your counselor. The appropriate concentration request form may be obtained from the offices of the School of Arts & Sciences or at Student Academic Services.
