the leadership development center, located at the Providence Campus, serves as a resource for students, faculty, and staff to develop their leadership through experiential opportunities in community service, student life activities, academic courses on leadership theory, and training workshops on leadership topics.

leadership credentialing Attention students! Are you familiar with Leadership Credentialing? Are you graduating? Are you planning a practicum, coop, internship, or externship experience this year? Do you want to distinguish yourself from other employment candidates? Then you are interested in receiving a credential in leadership.

Since leadership attitudes and behaviors have been targeted by employers as essential for successful careers, students in all four-year university programs are encouraged to develop and maintain a portfolio that demonstrates their leadership skills in action. Leadership credentialing targets students who are interested in drawing upon their previous academic and experiential activities as tangible evidence of their mastery of leadership skills.

Can you demonstrate these leadership attitudes and behaviors through your school and work experiences?

  • Shows integrity
  • Fosters teamwork
  • Develops others
  • Inspires others
  • Demonstrates vision/guides others toward accomplishment
  • Deals effectively with change

If you can demonstrate these attitudes and behaviors, contact the Leadership Development Center (x1293) or any faculty member teaching Leadership classes for more information on how to receive your credential in leadership.

Orientation Sessions are offered during week 5 of every term. Dates and times are announced in the Providence Campus Update (PCU). For more information, contact Center Director Gretchen Guertin at x1354 or email.
