Community service learning combines the academic knowledge and skills students receive in their classes with real-life issues and challenges involved in being responsible citizens in a rapidly changing world. Service to the community is important at each of J&W's campuses where you'll find students, staff and faculty volunteering their time to local organizations.

Feinstein Enriching America Program All full-time undergraduate day students at the Providence campus of Johnson & Wales University are required to complete two Community Service Learning (CSL) requirements in order to graduate.

Most students enrolled in a practicum will fulfill this requirement as part of their internship experience. Other students will choose a service-learning component from those offered in their academic classes. Students will select their service-learning requirement in consultation with the Alan Shawn Feinstein Community Service Center and their instructors. Students will be placed in sites within the community where they will use their skills to assist with a variety of projects, including social, environmental and educational issues.
