cooperative education World-class employers connect with select Johnson & Wales University students through our highly successful Cooperative Education Program. Major banks, brokerage firms, retailers, accounting firms, hotels, restaurants, clubs and resorts find Johnson and Wales co-op students focused, realistic, and capable on the job. Working with a co-op employer, students get a true taste of the work world, while meeting educational requirements. Students in all majors must meet the selection criteria in order to qualify for acceptance into the Cooperative Education Program. Culinary and Pastry Arts students can apply for co-op in their sophomore and senior years. Hospitality, Technology and Business students can apply for co-op at the end of their junior year through their senior year.
