Certified Management Accountant

Get your CMA certification at Johnson & Wales University, and you'll have greater earning power — roughly 31% higher in total compensation — than your noncertified peers, according to Strategic Finance Magazine's 2009 salary survey.

Our College of Business offers comprehensive test preparation for the redesigned, two-part CMA examination, in cooperation with the Institute of Certified Management Accountants (ICMA). By preparing for and achieving the CMA designation, you'll:

  • Join an elite group of operations-focused strategists and decision makers skilled in evaluation, critical thinking, and judgment.
  • Confirm your broad business competency.
  • Better position yourself for career advancement and greater earning power.
  • Demonstrate your commitment to professional development and professional ethical standards.

JWU’s comprehensive, instructor-led review courses are delivered in two convenient segments that mirror the structure of the CMA exam. Part 1 runs from Mar-May; Part 2 runs from Oct-Jan.

Coursework
Coursework is aligned with the ICMA’s CMA Learning System 3.0, a comprehensive learning experience that combines ICMA study materials, classroom learning and online practice tests.

While the course's primary focus is to prepare you for the CMA exam, it is also an excellent professional development tool to help advance your career in accounting, finance or business management.

Study Materials
The study materials used in all CMA courses have been prepared by the ICMA. Recently updated to Version 3.0, they incorporate the latest accountancy knowledge.

The textbooks, online practice tests and resources are directly aligned with the new CMA exam. Textbooks include a thorough review of critical concepts, tips on exam preparation, sample essays and test questions, and an extensive bibliography.

Online study materials are available 24/7, providing flexibility and convenience to study at your own pace and schedule. These include online practice tests, study guides, progress trackers and additional resources, including the ICMA’s Exam Content Specifications and Learning Outcome Statements (LOS).
