Be the Future of Hospitality

Food & Beverage Industry Management students explore the art of beverages and modern bar service, from developing recipes for creative to conducting tastings and finding the perfect pairings with food. Hospitality Management students fully functional Hospitality Dining Room, students plan and execute dining events that include place settings, décor, menus and service for diners within the campus community — and even their families. Sports, Entertainment, Event — Management (SEEM) majors discover how to pitch to investors and assess competitors in the Student Innovation Lab.

Minors

Deepen your knowledge in a related field to broaden what you can do with your degree. Complement your major with a minor in Beverage Service Management, Craft Brewing, Culinary Sustainability and more. 

Hands-on in Hospitality

At JWU, you’ll be encouraged to participate in Directed Experiential Education (DEE), an intensive, project-based learning opportunity. Through DEE, students develop leadership and collaborative skills while completing an industry-based or functional-area-based project for class credit. JWU also offers exciting short-term tours to various countries across the globe. These tours are a unique way to gain insight into trip planning and execution, and delve into the diverse culinary traditions of different cultures.

Meet a JWU Hospitality Wildcat

Introducing Sija Hedrick! This Food & Beverage Industry Management major is involved in tons of student clubs and activities on campus, from a sorority to student government to the U.S. Bartenders’ Guild. Sija greatly appreciates the support of her JWU community and faculty, who encourage her to pursue global certifications in wine as part of her minor in Sommelier Management.

Founded in 1946, the International Council on Hotel, Restaurant and Institutional Education is a collegial association that advances and improves global hospitality and tourism education and research. Members within regional federations can take advantage of conference and networking opportunities.
