General Information
Please review the following information carefully. Your understanding of and cooperation with what is expected of you on the day of commencement will guarantee a smooth, enjoyable ceremony for you, your family and guests.

what is a graduand? Once a student fulfills the requirements for a degree or diploma, but is waiting for the degree to be conferred, he is referred to as a "graduand". Immediately after the ceremony, the student is considered a "graduate".

your degree & requirements The associate and bachelor's degrees are granted to those students who have satisfactorily completed the entire program with a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.00. Students must take and pass all courses in each program. Everyone who will have completed the required coursework by December 2006 is eligible to walk at the May 2006 ceremony.

The details printed on your degree will be based on the information Student Academic Services has on file. All 2006 degree documents (diplomas) will be mailed to the mailing address that appears in your student file. It is your responsibility to make sure the information in your file is correct. Your official diploma will be mailed to you about ten (10) weeks after your program completion date.

IMPORTANT All students are urged to check their account status with Student Financial Services and the Resource Center prior to commencement. Failure to satisfy all financial obligations to the University will prevent you from receiving your diploma in a timely manner.

can't attend? Although it is traditional to graduate by attending the commencement ceremony, there may be circumstances that prevent you from attending. If you have completed all graduation requirements but are unable to attend, you are still considered a member of this graduating class and will receive your diploma in the mail approximately ten weeks after commencement.
