Commencement 2008
Commencement is the most significant academic event for students and the entire university community. It is the culmination of years of hard work and personal and financial sacrifice for students and families alike. These ceremonies will celebrate the traditional observances that accompany one of the highest rewards of academic achievement.

Graduates must meet in the lobby no later than 8:30am
Guest should plan to be seated by 9:45am in time for the academic procession.
Seating is on a first come first serve basis.

Important dates for graduates

Grad Expo: March 25-26, 2008
A day long event that features helpful information for graduates.

Grad Week: March 24-28, 2008
A week of celebratory activities for graduates, including Grad Expo.

Graduation Paperwork due: March 28, 2008
Diploma Applications and Exit Interview Forms (111KB PDF) are due to Student Academic & Financial Services. You may also pick up a Graduation Booklet at Student Academic & Financial Services beginning Feb. 1.

Confirm your degree with SAS: April 11-18
Log on to your JWU e-mail account to check the spelling of your name and confirm your degree. Call 305-892-7038 if you haven't received this e-mail by April 28.

Cap & Gown Pickup: March 25 - May 16, 2008
Cap & gown pickup is available in the Bookstore. Graduates must submit their diploma application and exit interview before picking up their cap & gown. Students who are unable to pick up a cap & gown during these times may pick it up at the ceremony.

Student Awards Banquet: May 8, 2008
An evening of awards to honor and celebrate sutdent achievement.
