Many students are not prepared for experiencing the unexpected culture shock when they return home. Your travel adventures gave you stories, thoughts and challenges. You may feel very changed from your travels abroad.
While you were away, life continued at home, too. People you were close to have had experiences and events without you. As a result, when you come back, life at home just may not feel like it did before you left. This is reverse culture shock. It is very common and worth understanding.
One resource that you may find both interesting and helpful is the second module of What's Up With Culture, Module 2: Re-entry.
