JWU Providence : Greek Life : Leadership

Leadership

Since 2009 the JWU Greek Community has worked closely with The Boys & Girls Club of Providence as its community philanthropy and Greek Life hosts an annual Dance Marathon every year to raise money for this organization.

The Greek Emerging Leaders series encourages younger members to take on leadership roles within their organization.

Participating students are nominated by their Chapter President.

During an academic year, there are two sessions, Fall and Spring; these are held on Tuesdays from 3:30-4:45pm.

President’s Roundtable Greek chapter presidents meet once a month with the Greek Advisor to discuss upcoming events, issues on campus, and to prepare for major Greek events throughout the year.

All Roundtable meetings take place at 5pm in the Pepsi Forum.

Order of Omega is JWU’s Greek Honor Society. The Order emphasizes scholarship, philanthropy and community outreach among its members, who excel in academics, leadership and community service within the Greek community.

Order of Omega also has adopted the Read Across America program as their philanthropy.

To become a member of Order of Omega, you must

  • be a junior or senior in good academic standing
  • have a GPA higher than 3.0
  • be actively involved with a Greek organization

If you are interested in applying for membership in the Order of Omega, contact Nicole Malone, president.
