Intercultural Center

img Multiculture 170x150The Providence Campus' Intercultural Center (ICC) was founded in 1993 to encourage respect, supportive interaction and educational opportunities between people of diverse characteristics and backgrounds.

It is our mission to

  • provide a welcoming, ethnically diverse environment where students of all backgrounds can prosper both academically and socially as they develop into successful professionals
  • host and co-host educational programs, cultural events and social activities that expose students to diverse cultures and histories
  • To collaborate with Arts & Sciences, Feinstein Community Service Center, the International Center, Leadership Activities, Residential Life and the Gender Equity Center
  • involve students in the formation, development and evaluation of all programs
  • enhance and maintain local community relationships
  • to be a home away from home

The ICC hosts and co-hosts a wide variety of educational programs that focus on issues of diversity and community, including cultural events and social activities designed to engage students, staff and faculty in direct interaction.

The educational programs hosted or co-hosted by the ICC foster cultural awareness stimulate in-depth, sustained dialogue between individuals from diverse cultures and peer groups looking to share and celebrate cultural differences.

Cultural events and social activities are designed to encourage participants to share, explore, and be accepting of individual and collective differences across cultures.
