Students who receive a Federal Work-Study (FWS) Award as part of their financial aid package have the opportunity to work on campus or in an off-campus Community Service Work-Study position.
On-Campus On-campus work is with university departments and typically includes, general office work, data entry, dining hall services, student and recreational activities.
Work schedules are flexible to enable students to work their hours around their class schedule. Some positions include some night and weekend hours.
Community Service Work-StudyStudents can choose to earn their Federal Work-Study Award off-campus at local community service organizations that serve the needs of local Providence and surrounding communities.
There are various types of opportunities with local nonprofit, governmental, and community-based organizations that serve to improve the quality of life for community residents. Positions may include working with children in daycare and after school programs, tutoring, supporting educational and recreational activities, assisting food pantry and nutrition efforts, and providing human services to area residents.
Students who choose to work in off-campus Community Service Work-Study will earn a premium wage of $8.25 per hour. Complete the Community Service Form to be considered for a position. Email Student Employment for more information.
