JWU Providence : Teaching Assistant

Teaching Assistant

The Teaching Assistant Program (TA) provides opportunities for students to work at one of the university's hotels, restaurants, hospitality business partners, dining service sites, or culinary classrooms.

TAs assist instructors with teaching classes, hold supervisory positions, and strive to deliver high quality service and products at university-owned, and operated, or partnership facilities. TAs earn hourly wages and scholarship, if eligible, for their participation.

TAs who show outstanding performance may choose to apply for available Fellowship positions. Fellowships will provide additional opportunities for further development of skills and to gain additional work experience.

 Eligibility requirements are:

  • Full-time student status in undergraduate or graduate school.
  • 2.75 minimum GPA.
  • A student must have one full year of academic credits remaining toward undergraduate or graduate degree requirements in order to apply for a TA position.
  • Successful completion of Culinary, Pastry or Hotel internships or terms abroad.

For more information regarding the application process contact the Practicum Training Office at 401-598-2113 or by email.

Students interested in working at one of our hospitality partners can contact Sandra Tremblay.
