The Student Government Association (SGA) acts as an empowering voice for the student body. Its mission is to preserve an atmosphere of open communication between the student body and administration, respond to student issues, encourage community involvement and ensure the general welfare of the student body. Comprised of four executive officers, senators, and various committees, SGA also plays an active role on the Budget Board, a Student Activities committee that allocates funds to student-run organizations, and Traffic Board.
Elections for new officers are held every spring term for board positions and fall term for senate.
For more information, visit the SGA offices, which are located on the 3rd floor of the Wildcat Center or by phone at 305-892-5351. SGA advisors are Mark Neckes, COB, 305-892-3820 and Ashley Haynie, director of student activities, 305-892-5363.
