Joining the Greek community is a great way for you to develop socially, intellectually, and professionally within a single organization. You will be constantly challenged to push yourself, honing your leadership skills alongside cooperative spirit. At the same time, you will be supported by the close-knit social network of your Greek peers. Being a member of a Greek organization means always being ready to lend a hand. Emphasizing community outreach as much as high scholastic achievement, activities include peer tutoring and counseling; special scholarships and awards; and chapter study hours.
Additionally, Greek organizations collectively sponsor many philanthropic events throughout the year. Fraternities and sororities also participate in many social events throughout the year, from homecoming/family weekend, Greek Week, and socials with other Greek organizations to dinner dances, barbecues, spring formals and awards banquets. To become part of or retain active membership in any Greek organization at JWU’s Denver Campus, you must maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5. You should only consider membership in organization(s) that are supported by and follow guidelines established by the university. Do not consider membership in organizations not recognized by the university. Students face possible disciplinary action for joining unrecognized organization(s).
