Electives

Eligible elective course offerings are defined by attribute type and are identified by appropriate colleges or schools. Applicable to all types of electives:

  • The selected elective may not be a required course in the student’s program of study.
  • Individual program requirements will detail any exceptions when specific courses may not satisfy an elective requirement.
  • When selecting an elective, students must register the appropriate type of elective and are responsible for satisfying any prerequisites or restrictions that may be present on the elective course offering.

To select an elective course:

  • uconnect > Registration > Look Up Classes To Add.
  • In Subject, select the first subject; scroll to the bottom of the list; while holding the Shift key, select the last subject (all subjects are selected).
  • Select your Campus.
  • In Attribute Type, select the attribute code for the appropriate type of elective (see list below).
  • After registering a course, review your updated degree audit to ensure that your selected course fills into the appropriate elective(s) area requirement.

  • Accounting Elective / EACC
  • Arts & Sciences Elective / EASC
  • Baking/Pastry Elective / EBAP
  • Career Elective / ECAR
  • Criminal Justice Elective / ECJS
  • Culinary Elective / ECUL
  • Elective / no code (select any course subject excluding CAR, CSL, or SVL numbered 1000-4999 that is not considered institutional credit)
  • Equine Elective / EEQN
  • Financial Services Elective / EFIN
  • Graduate Elective / EGRD
  • Hospitality Elective / EHSP
  • International Business Elective / EIBU
  • Technology Elective / ETEC
  • Technology Experiential Education Elective / BSXP
