North Miami Culinary Dean Named Vice President of American Culinary Federation’s Southeastern Chapter

NORTH MIAMI, Fla. – Jan. 25, 2008 – Johnson & Wales University’s North Miami Campus Dean of Culinary Arts Education, Bruce Ozga, was named vice president of the South Florida Chapter of the American Culinary Federation (ACF) for 2008.

Ozga has been an ACF member for 14 years, and was honored as the Southeast Region Chef Educator of the Year in 2007. Ozga has more than 25 years experience in the food service industry and has been with Johnson & Wales University since 1997. He joined the university as a faculty member and later became assistant director of culinary education at the North Miami Campus. He then took a position as dean of culinary education at the university’s Denver Campus before becoming dean of culinary arts back in North Miami in 2005.

In his current position, Ozga is responsible for supporting the overall mission of the College of Culinary Arts and providing leadership with direct oversight of budget, staff and academic programs and to ensure the quality of the educational programs.

Ozga graduated from Johnson & Wales University’s Providence Campus with an associate degree in culinary arts and a bachelor’s degree in food service management. He also has a master’s degree in education from Colorado State University in Fort Collins.
