There are a variety of culinary and baking and pastry clubs that promote a well rounded JWU culinary education, by sharpening your organizational, leadership and communication skills.
Chippers Club helps students gain exposure to safe ice handling techniques and improve carving skills.
Baking & Pastry Arts Club enhances the culinary educational experience and provides the opportunity to pursue the mastery of cake decorating, chocolate tempering and overall pastry art techniques. The club is also involved in baking & pastry related competitions and community service outreach programs.
Special Functions Team was founded in 1998 and is one of the largest and most active organizations on campus. The club seeks members who have a positive attitude and strong work ethic. In return, members are highly rewarded through voluntary involvement in exciting events, the opportunity to gain invaluable knowledge and important networking opportunities. Club adviser is Irene Coroalles
Herb Society was created for students who are interested in promoting the knowledge, use and delight of herbs through research and sharing the experience with other students. Students are involved in maintaining the herb garden using earth boxes from “The Growing Connection.”
Food Writers Club is designed for students who are interested in writing about food and wine. Students write about the latest food and wine trends and the inside scoop on the restaurant scene. Students publish all of the information in the monthly newsletter for the College of Culinary Arts.
Junior ACF (American Culinary Federation) engages in fundraising for the American Culinary Federation, scholarships, guest lectures, certification procedures, field trips, seminars and demonstrations.
