JWU offers two bachelor of science degree programs in Equine Studies that will get you started on the path toward a successful equine career. Equine Business Management This program combines equine academic courses and hands-on equine experience with business and general studies courses. The program prepares you for areas of the industry demanding managerial skills, a knowledge of business practice and equine experience. Equine Business Management/Riding Designed for the student who desires a career in teaching, training and/or farm management, this program combines riding instruction, specialized academic equine courses, and hands-on equine experience with business and general studies courses. Admission to the Management/Riding degree requires prior riding experience, a DVD showing riding competencies, and a telephone interview with the equine admissions representative. Admission to this program is limited and early application is recommended.
This program also provides the opportunity to take an Instructor/Trainer concentration as well.
