Educating the public, and protecting large organizations against security breach are two skills that Joshua Wright has demonstrated throughout his career, first at Johnson & Wales University's School of Technology, and now as the senior security analyst for InGuardians, Inc.
Joshua began his career at JWU as the team leader of IT projects at both at the Providence and Denver campuses. He was successful in shaping the communication security infrastructure for the university, and worked closely with various departments to ensure confidentiality safeguards were in place to protect confidential student information and the integrity of university assets.
Having mastered intricate computer security systems, Joshua went on to the SANS Institute, a globally-respected research and training institution. While there, he was a featured speaker at computer security conferences throughout the United States, delivering keynote presentations on consumer information and corporate intellectual property protection.
As a research analyst for the company, he worked with major vendors such as Cisco Systems, Oracle, Apple and Microsoft on improving their product security. Joshua also advised fortune 500 companies and federal agencies including the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Department of Defense on techniques to defend their systems from electronic attacks.
Now, as senior security analyst for InGuardians, Joshua continues to work closely with large, publicly traded organizations as well as government and US critical infrastructure companies on identifying and addressing computer security threats. He continues to speak frequently at public and private information security conferences, on the topics of privacy and anonymity of risks in wireless systems for the organizations including the United States Army and the Pentagon.
Identified as a top industry leader in Pen Testing and Web App Attacks, Wright will be a featured presenter at the 2nd annual SANS "What Works in Penetration Testing and Web App Attacks" Summit, Jun 1-2, 2009. He will present to the leading pen test and web application vulnerability experts, practitioners, and cutting-edge vendors who are there sharing their secrets to effective penetration testing and web application vulnerability assessment.
Joshua has also co-authored three books and authored several papers regarding novel computer security analysis methods published by McGraw Hill, SANS Press and Syngress Press. When he is not working, Joshua loves to spend time with his family, experimenting with digital video editing and production. Joshua makes his home with his wife, Jennifer, his daughter Maya, and son Ethan.
