We realize that students with academic ability, intellectual promise, leadership capabilities and demonstrated initiative need stimulating challenges beyond the average classroom experience. Therefore, on the Denver Campus, faculty teach the core courses that are offered across different academic disciplines. These faculty members possess both exemplary teaching abilities and are experts in their content area. You may select the courses in which to achieve your Honors Designations, lending itself to a flexible program that maximizes your strengths. The fact that you must take courses in both your core curriculum and in Arts & Sciences provides a cross section of thought-provoking perspectives and develops a well-balanced program, which equals a well-balanced education.
Honors faculty are involved in the following:
• Teaching honors courses• Establishing honors criteria• Planning honors colloquiums• Advising honors students• Reviewing and evaluating scholarly papers
In addition to accomplished faculty members teaching ‘H’ Designation courses, our own Honors Faculty Committee manages all administrative facets of the program, including coordinating Honors events and activities and fostering a community of Honors Students. Department Chairs are a part of this committee and are responsible for screening the Honors Projects for their area.
