Student Transportation & Parking

JWU offers a variety of student transportation options, so you can safely explore all the opportunities Providence offers, travel between campuses and get where you need to be.

For your health and safety, the university provides select medical transport and even JWU Ride, our emergency transport service for students stranded late at night.

JWU Buses
We provide regularly scheduled Wildcat Wheels bus service to and from JWU facilities, including res halls, during the academic year.

Transportation is also provided for field trips, recreational events, athletic programs and all other university functions.

Parking
Parking permits are required to park at any JWU lot. You must register your vehicle with Campus Safety & Security.

Campus-2-Campus Transport You can park in the commuter parking lot on the Harborside Campus, and ride Wildcat Wheels or RIPTA to travel between campuses. RIPTA stops at our Harborside Campus on Saturdays and Sundays only; there is no weekday service.

Local Transportation
With RIPTA (Rhode Island Public Transit Authority) public transportation service, get around the city or state, explore Newport or visit a friend at a local school.

• Use your student ID as a FREE personal pass
• Swipe your student ID through the card reader to ride any RIPTA bus/trolly
• RIPTA bus #3 provides service between our Harborside Campus and Kennedy Plaza, near our Downcity Campus

You can also use the following public transportation services:

Airport Any Wildcat Wheels bus going to the Radisson Hotel can stop at TF Green Airport. RIPTA buses #14 and #20 provide service to the airport.

Train Station Any Wildcat Wheels bus going to The Cove can stop at Kennedy Plaza or the Providence train station for Amtrak (PVD station) or MBTA service.

Buses Peter Pan, Greyhound and RIPTA's buses are available.
