A faculty member since 2006, Dale Silva’s expertise is in Rooms Division and Hotel/ Resort Operations Management. She brings more than twelve years of experience in the hospitality industry, including the position of director of operations for a full-service Sheraton resort.

A Certified Hospitality Educator (CHE) and a highly rated teacher, Silva teaches courses in front office operations, marketing, sales & meeting management, hotel property operations, resort management, international hospitality operations, international policies of tourism and human resources management. 

As the advisor for the International Hotel and Tourism Management degree, Silva travels abroad with the IHTM students to Italy during the spring term and provides classroom instruction while there. She also serves as faculty advisor to the National Society of Minorities in Hospitality (NSMH).

Silva has completed a faculty internship with Marriott International. She is a member of the RI Hospitality Association, the International Council on Hotel, Restaurant, and Institutional Education (ICHRIE) and the Hospitality Sales & Marketing Association (HSMAI).
