Prior to joining the faculty at Johnson & Wales University, C. Jay Schafer worked for General Electric, Samsonite, Sunbeam and Hobart Corporation in consumer, business-to-business and service industries. He has held a variety of positions such as Vice President of Marketing/Sales and Director of International Business where he has led product, brand, communications and sales initiatives.
Schafer has stimulated company growth that has resulted in millions of dollars of improved revenue and income via new products, new distribution channels, innovative communications programs and effective strategic planning. He also has proven experience in major turnaround situations with Sunbeam Corporation and is currently a marketing business consultant in addition to teaching.
