Steve Weisz is president of Marriott Vacation Club International. Prior to this, he served as executive vice president of lodging brands and was responsible for developing growth and positioning strategies for all Marriott lodging brands, including Marriott Hotels, Resorts and Suites; Renaissance; New World: Courtyard; Fairfield Inn; Springhill Suites; Residence Inn; TownePlace Suites, and Marriott Conference Centers.
His career with Marriott spans 34 years and includes several key executive management positions: senior vice president of sales and marketing for Marriott Hotels, Resorts and Suites; regional vice president for the mid-Atlantic region; vice president, revenue management; senior vice president of rooms operations and related services; general manager, Bethesda Marriott in Maryland.
A graduate of Cornell University with a bachelor of science degree in hotel administration, Weisz joined Marriott in 1972 as a front office trainee at the Key Bridge Marriott in Arlington, Va. He returned to Cornell on a regular basis for 13 years as a faculty member and visiting lecturer. He is currently a member of and has served as a regional vice president of the Cornell Hotel Society.
In 2001 Weisz received an honorary doctoral degree in business administration in hospitality management from Johnson & Wales University. Weisz has served on the boards for several organizations including the American Resort Development Association, the Children’s Miracle Network, the UCF Rosen School of Hospitality Management and the Maryland Hotel/Motel Association.
