Prior to joining the faculty at Johnson & Wales University, Charles Puckett was director of Catering and Events for Universal Studios in Hollywood, Calif., where he oversaw premiere parties for such blockbusters as Jurassic Park, Robin Hood and Back to the Future III. In addition, he has designed and directed the operations for post-award receptions for the Academy Awards and the Academy of Country Music Awards. He has also designed and implemented large-scale events for such nonprofits as The Ronald McDonald House, Project Literacy and Meals on Wheels.

Puckett is a member of the International Society of Event Specialists (ISES), Council on Hotel Restaurant and Institutional Education (CHRIE), Society of Wine Educators (SWE), Wine and Spirits Education Trust (WSET), Delta Mu Delta International Business Honor Society, and Who’s Who of American Educators.

Puckett is a Certified Specialist of Wine (CSW), holds the Wine and Spirit Education Trust-Advanced certification in wine and spirits (WSET), and Court of Master Sommeliers-Level two (CMS).
