Jan Jordan received her bachelor's of science and secondary education degree in Home Economics from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo. She taught for one year at Chaffey College in Alta Loma, California. After living in Montana for 10 years, she moved to North Carolina where she taught family & consumer sciences to junior and senior high school students and was involved in FCCLA at the local, state, and national levels. As a classroom teacher, Jan appreciated the hands-on education available to students at Johnson & Wales, and in 1999 she left teaching to become an admissions representative with JWU. She is the mother of two grown children (one of whom took the Garnish Your Degree Program at JWU), and she enjoys going to auctions, her Weimaraner, living in the “country” and the flowers/plants in the yard.
