2006-2007: Project Launch, Outcomes Mapping

  1. Directive from Provost
  2. Revised committee structure established
  3. Initial project plan developed
  4. Outcomes terminology adopted
  5. First formal report and plan delivered to university deans committee
  6. Mapping of outcomes for each degree program initiated

2007-2008: Mapping, Process Improvement, Faculty Training

  1. Outcomes mapping completed, formal report delivered to university deans committee
  2. Faculty training plan initiated and completed
  3. Committee by-laws revised
  4. Revisions to outcomes initiated in each school/college

2008 – 2009: Continued Process Improvement, Assessment

  1. Continued revision of college and program outcomes
  2. Initiate integration efforts (Academics, Student Affairs, Career Development)
  3. Development of assessment methods for each major outcome
  4. Assessment plan and training
    1. Rubric development
    2. Inter-rater reliability testing
    3. Pilot of e-portfolios for some departments
  5. Pilot data collection on assessment results for 1-2 outcomes per major

2009 – 2010: Expanded Assessment, Closing the Loop

  1. Revise methods of sampling from 2008 – 2009
  2. Develop further sampling on 2 – 4 additional outcomes
  3. Begin summative assessment

2010 – 2011: Closing the Loop

  1. All outcomes now sampled and assessed
  2. Devise process for applying outcomes assessment results to program improvement

2011 – 2012: Start Process Again

  1. Initiate second cycle of improvement
