A Johnson & Wales University alumna, Katrina Herold joined the Beverage & Dining Services Department as an instructor in 2006. She teaches Essentials of Dining Service, Advanced Dining Room Procedures and Principles of Beverage Service instructing students in the elements of proper fine dining table service, etiquette as well as introducing them to the world of wine. She was also the recipient of the 2012 Unsung Hero Award. 

A member of the Society of Wine Educators and the Federation of Dining Room Professionals, Herold holds an Advanced Certificate in Wines and Spirits from the Wine and Spirits Education Trust (WSET). Additional credentials include a Certified Specialist of Wine from the Society of Wine Educators (SWE). She is a member of JWU's Bacchus Club and is a ServSafe Alcohol Approved Instructor. She traveled to France recently where she became a Certified International Bordeaux Wine Educator. In 2007, she earned the Outstanding First Year Teacher Award.

Prior to joining the faculty at JWU, Herold held management positions with several hotels including Radisson and Holiday Inn and she was the banquet service director for Quidnesset Country Club located in North Kingstown, R.I.
