Providence Business Student Honored by American Advertising Federation
Juan Alvarado, a senior College of Business student at the Providence Campus, was among the 2009 Most Promising Minority Students named by the American Advertising Federation. The New Jersey native was the only student selected from a Rhode Island college or university.
As a result of his academic performance, as well as his involvement in the annual National Student Advertising Competition (NSAC), JWU Advertising Club and Delta Epsilon Chi (DEX), Alvarado traveled to New York City on Feb 3-5, to attend a three-day program at the New York Athletic Club where he was recognized for his achievements.
Alvarado was also selected for an internship at Hill Holliday in Boston.
Since the inception of the American Advertising Federation's Most Promising Minority Students Program 12 years ago, 398 students have been honored as Most Promising and hundreds more have been part of the Honor Roll.
Recipients for the award are chosen based on their academic standing, demonstrated interest in the advertising industry – such as through work experience, extra curricular activities – as well as their leadership potential and community service. To learn more, visit the AAF website.
