Known to millions of Malaysians as “The Singing Chef,” or simply "Chef Zam," celebrity chef, actor, radio host, college lecturer and event producer Zamzani Wahab has combined his passion for food with his singing ability and hilarious banter to become a household name in Malaysia. Zamzani lectures at KDU College’s School of Hotel & Tourism management in Damansara Jaya, but his big break came when he met a television producer at a friend’s house, and appeared on the popular Malay cooking show Garam Gula (Salt and Sugar). An immediate sensation, Zamzani has been featured on numerous TV shows and in newspapers and magazines promoting products and charities. Of his culinary education, Zamzani says, “I gained a lot of knowledge from JWU. We were like a big family there.” Today, he serves as an official representative of Johnson & Wales for West Malaysia, and is President of JWU's Alumni Association, Malaysian Chapter.
Zamzani has also served as the Head of Special Projects at KDU College's School of Hospitality, Tourism & Culinary Arts for the past 11 years. He holds an Associate of Science degree in Hotel-Restaurant Management and a Bachelor’s degree in Hotel-Restaurant/Institutional Management (both from JWU), as well as a Master of Arts degree in Hospitality Management from Thames Valley University in London.
