University Invites You to 'Tune in for a Good Cause' at Free Winter Concert

Johnson & Wales University will host a winter concert, “Tune in for a Good Cause,” featuring the Rhode Island Wind Ensemble on Sun, Feb 22, at 2pm. The concert is free and open to the public, with donations to benefit the Rhode Island Community Food Bank. The concert will be held in JWU’s Pepsi Forum, located in Plantations Hall, at the corner of Pine and Chestnut Streets in Providence. Free parking for patrons will be available in the JWU Richmond Parking Lot, located at the corner of Pine and Richmond Streets.

The Rhode Island Wind Ensemble is a dynamic performing group of more than 40 skilled professional and amateur musicians who, because of their love of music, volunteer their time to provide outstanding performances for audiences of all ages. The ensemble is conducted under the direction of Dr. Robert Franzblau.

The concert is being sponsored by the JWU Arts & Sciences Cultural Life Series to support the Rhode Island Community Food Bank. Patrons are asked to bring food items most needed: canned soup, tuna, beans, fruits and vegetables; and whole wheat pasta, tomato sauce, brown rice, granola bars. Cash or check donations will also be welcomed.
