English as a Second Language (ESL) Program
English as a Second Language (ESL) Program
If you require English as a Second Language (ESL) services, the Providence Campus’ English Language Institute allows you to improve your reading, writing and conversation skills while earning academic credit. Students who wish to study only English and are not planning to enter an academic program are also welcome.
This intensive program covers everything you'll need to prepare for college-level classes, from basic grammar to comprehension and critical thinking skills. In-class work, conversation and writing assignments help ease your transition to campus life.
Scheduling and Placement
Choose from one of three 11-week programs offered during the academic year (September-May), or an 8-week summer program. Course information is available via
jwuLink
.
JWU uses scores from official placement tests to determine the level of ESL that's right for you. Learn more about our
