Cancellations and Delays
The Charlotte Campus uses the following to announce class cancellations or delays:

• Campuswide emails announcing any closure
• The Information Line at 980-JWU-INFO (980-598-4636)
• Local network stations News 14 Carolina (cable channel 14), WBTV 3 (CBS), WCNC 6 (NBC), WSOC 9 (ABC), and FOX 18, as well as 1110 WBT AM radio

Campuswide emails are generally not distributed if the campus is to remain open. However, the Information Line will indicate if there are no additional updates at the time.

In most emergency situations, it is appropriate to call Campus Safety & Security.

The Emergency Management Team and Campus Safety & Security remain dedicated to the safety of our students, faculty and staff. For additional information, contact Campus Safety & Security.

There has been an immediate increase in security staffing around the residence halls and Academic Center during class times. The director of Campus Safety & Security has met with representatives from the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department to create plans for rapid police deployment to the university in an emergency.
