Fighting the Rising Cost of Education: Professor Proposes Solutions to Industry Leaders
We all know the cost of college keeps going up. The question we want an answer to is how a baby born today will pay for college.
Professor Eric Gamble has the answer. Gamble presented his research titled “Offsetting the Cost of Tertiary Education for the Cohort of 2024: An Alternative Financing Model,” at the Society for the Advancement of Management, 2009 International Business Conference on Sustainability that took place March 22-25, in Las Vegas. His work detailed how increases in the cost of education can be offset through new financing alternatives. Professor Gamble also chaired the session on alternative financing models and experiential learning models.
The Society for Advancement of Management (SAM) is sponsored by Texas A&M University. SAM was founded in 1912 by the colleagues and disciples of Frederick Taylor, widely acknowledged as the "Father of Scientific Management." Members come from a variety of disciplines — productions, finance, marketing, accounting, research and development, entrepreneurship — but share a common bond of interest in becoming stronger managers. SAM builds bridges among academicians, practitioners and students not only to better share management expertise, but also to develop and promote new management ideas.
