Culinary Nutrition Mission and Goals

The mission of the Culinary Nutrition bachelor’s degree program is to uphold the JWU philosophy by integrating career-focused education, professional skills and general education. By combining the fields of culinary arts, nutrition, and general education, the curriculum will prepare entry-level chefs for current and future roles within the food service and nutrition professions.

To reflect the mission, vision and goals of the university, the Culinary Nutrition program has established the following ideals. The program will

• prepare graduates for a career utilizing their knowledge, skills, and competencies in dietetics and culinary arts
• recruit, retain and graduate a diverse and highly motivated population of students
• instill students with a commitment to community service
